Newberry exhibitions

The Newberry exhibition calendar says exhibitions are free and open to all. Select a currently listed exhibition and check gallery hours. Exhibition access is different from research-room arrangements, so consult the visitor guidance if you want to use the collections.

Use Rebuild Foundation’s official site to check visitor and programme information for Stony Island Arts Bank. We have not verified a blanket promise of free access to every event or a daily drop-in schedule. Include it only when the programme for your intended date confirms admission and access.

Choose a short segment with an appropriate return plan instead of treating the whole lakefront as one attraction. Open the actual venue calendar and confirm the full date, location, entry conditions and whether places remain available. Do not rely on a year changed in an old article or a weekday-only listing.

Check whether “free” requires a ticket, registration, residency or another condition.
Distinguish a free public event from a business promotion or invitation-only session.
Look for a cancellation or weather notice before travelling.
Keep a backup option that fits the same area and budget.
